I made this LUT because I was tired of the same recycled “cinematic” presets that turn everything into a teal-and-orange mess. I wanted something that actually looks like natural tropical light: warm but not orange, contrasty but not crushed, filmic but not overdone.

After months of testing it on real projects, from travel videos to narrative shorts, I’m finally sharing it. This is the exact base grade I use in my own work.

Why This One Is Different

Most LUTs you download online are designed to make a strong first impression. They look great on a still frame and then fall apart on actual footage with varying exposure and skin tones. This one is meant to be a base grade, not a one-click filter. It sets the foundation and lets you build on top of it.

I designed it around three things:

• Soft, film-like contrast with smooth highlight roll-off and rich but open shadows
• A tropical palette that leans into warm highlights and natural greens without going overboard
• Skin tone preservation, because the second a LUT makes people look like sunburned pumpkins, it’s useless

How I Use It

I drop it on as my first step in the grade, then refine from there. Maybe I’ll push the shadows a little cooler, warm up the midtones, add some grain. But the LUT gives me that filmic starting point that used to take me an hour to build from scratch.

It works especially well with natural light, golden hour stuff, and anything shot in a warm environment. If you’re shooting narrative work, travel content, or lifestyle pieces, give it a try.
